Role Overview & Expectations

As the Senior Project Engineer at Sri Skandan Construction™, you will serve as the field captain for our premier residential, commercial, and luxury estate projects. You will translate architectural and structural blueprints into flawless physical structures while maintaining rigorous IS Code standards, tight project timelines, and high client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

  • On-Site Civil Execution: Supervise deep foundation pile/raft casting, column reinforcement, shuttering alignment, and multi-storey slab pour (M25/M30 grade concrete).
  • Subcontractor & Labor Management: Coordinate masons, bar benders, centering carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and finishing teams for smooth daily handoffs.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Enforce IS 456, IS 1893, cube testing schedules (7-day and 28-day strength), slump cone checks, and mandatory 21-day continuous water curing.
  • Material Reconciliation: Audit daily cement consumption, Fe550D TMT steel yield, sand/M-Sand deliveries, and manage site wastage below 2%.
  • Milestone & Cost Tracking: Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), track milestones against baseline schedules, and verify subcontractor Running Account (RA) bills.
  • Site Safety Compliance: Maintain 100% PPE compliance, scaffolding stability certifications, and safe work protocols across all active sites.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

• Experience: 5 – 8 years of dedicated on-site construction experience in residential duplexes, luxury villas, or commercial multi-storey buildings in Tamil Nadu.

• Software Proficiency: AutoCAD (structural/architectural drawing reading & verification), MS Excel (BOQ & DPR tracking), MS Project / Primavera (preferred).

• Language Skills: Fluent in Tamil (essential for labor management) and working proficiency in English.

• Leadership: Proven track record of independently leading site teams of 20–50+ workers and coordinating with clients and consultants.
